Art in Public Space: The Case of Tallinn's Freedom Square

CreativeWorx and Goethe Institute Riga invited me to give a short presentation (Pecha Kucha) of my MA thesis during the conference Art in Public Space: Crossroads of Visual Arts, Architecture, Urban Development and Civil Society.

The two-day-long conference took place in Riga's Goethe Institute on the 25th and 26th of April 2012. I presented an overview of my MA thesis about the monumental changes of Tallinn's Liberty Square throughout the 20th century.

I was happy to befriend with Lithuanian artist Augustas Serapinas who presented after me. Some months later I invited him to do a residency and hold a solo exhibition at the Estonian Academy of Arts' Department of Installation and Sculpture. We have since become close friends.
